Noonan used the two year CGPP project as a much needed and welcome initiative to evaluate current consumption of water, electricity, energy, chemicals and waste associated with the provision of cleaning services.
The CGPP project gave the team the resources and assistance to evaluate changes Noonan could make across the company to reduce its environmental impact.
The key achievements of the CGPP project include:
- Reducing transport emissions by 7%.
- Electricity savings of 130,000kW hours per annum.
- Water savings of over 7000 m³ per annum.
- Cardboard and plastic packaging reductions of 88% and 97% respectively following the introduction of new eco-labelled detergents and dilution control stations.
- Training on CGPP and environmental awareness was delivered to over 7,000 staff, led by the CEO and senior management across the country.
The company also won the Chambers Ireland Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility Award for 2010.
