In depth review of waste management at RTE
Against a background where RTE was keen to adopt a proactive approach to environmental responsibility in general, and to implement best practice in areas such as resource usage and waste management in particular, the organisation seized the opportunity presented by its involvement in the Cleaner Greener Production Programme to carry out an in-depth review of its resource usage and waste management systems. This review was undertaken with the assistance of environmental consultants from IBEC. The review findings enabled RTE to put in place a waste prevention and minimisation programme: this will have a significant impact on both current and future waste management and disposal practices.
